Problems arise when someone relies on an outdated document or treats informal work for a family venture as outside the rules. Keep the family’s status dates on one calendar and identify a separate solution early if an adult child or spouse has needs the dependent classification cannot meet. A short written plan for every adult avoids the later claim that a business task or paid service was never intended when circumstances change.
