MOUNT PEARL · GOLD CARD FIELD GUIDE

If a Mount Pearl company sponsors a Gold Card, are the employee's spouse and children covered?

THE DIRECT ANSWER

The official terms describe separate per-person fees and gifts for each joining spouse and unmarried child under 21, including in corporate cases. The company and the employee must decide who pays those, and each family member still needs their own eligibility review.

Each family member is a separate line item and a separate case

The official framework does not fold the family into the principal's gift. As described on the official page at the review date, each eligible spouse and unmarried child under 21 who joins adds a processing fee and a further gift, and that applies to corporate sponsorships as well as individual ones. A company that budgeted for the director alone may find the family total far larger.

Beyond money, each family member is assessed for admissibility on their own record, and children are subject to the age-21 rule, with the Child Status Protection Act applying only as the law provides for the underlying category. The company and the director should decide in writing whether the company pays for dependants, whether that amount is a loan or compensation, and what happens if the director leaves. A child who will turn 21 before the process completes needs specific discussion, because the official page describes no refund for a child who ages out.

Verify the family terms again before payment.
