St. John’s: Is the cost of hiring a deputy an immigration requirement?

Sources checked:

THE DIRECT ANSWER

There is no universal requirement to hire a particular deputy. Staffing costs should reflect the actual business plan and role evidence.

Separate business design from filing charges

Assess how operational work will be done, then budget real staffing costs separately from current government fees and professional services. Hypothetical example: a rope-access inspection firm must decide whether the requested filing speed justifies an added processing expense. Tie every expense to the decision it supports: government filing amount, any faster-processing option, translation, evidence collection, travel and relocation.

The current official schedule settles government charges; vendor quotes do not. Ask whether the business has a hard commercial deadline and whether faster processing changes that deadline in a meaningful way. Overspending frequently follows a rush filing made before the entity chart or foreign-payroll record is ready, creating expensive follow-up work.

A realistic budget includes time to cure missing evidence and keeps household relocation costs distinct from petition costs. No payment removes the role, relationship or foreign-employment requirements. The decision record should identify which expense is necessary now and which can wait until the core eligibility evidence is coherent.
