St. John’s: Which handover records are useful?

THE DIRECT ANSWER

Current organizational charts, duty allocations and records showing actual responsibilities can help explain the proposal.

Distinguish existing support from intended hires

Label planned staffing honestly and provide its basis. Do not present an unfilled position as a person already performing operational work. Hypothetical example: a compostable-packaging business identifies its operations director as the transferee but has no current chart showing delegated production work.

Assemble three folders: entity relationship proof, foreign employment proof and U.S. role proof. The document that resolves delegation is often a current organization chart supported by named staff job descriptions, payroll or budgets, not an undated narrative.

Put corporate ownership records beside operating evidence so the reviewer can see both control and real business activity. Resolve missing dates before filing; a chart made for the case but unsupported by contemporaneous records can invite doubt. The first review should also identify whether the U.S.

operation is a new office, because premises and first-year role evidence become central rather than optional. Name a responsible corporate officer for each missing record and resolve gaps before the narrative is finalized, not after a reviewer finds the inconsistency.
