USCIS charges from the fee schedule at each stage, the regional centre's administrative fee, professional fees for the source-of-funds work, and the later condition-removal filing.
Several charges recur across a process measured in years
The qualifying capital is currently $1,050,000, or $800,000 for a targeted employment area or infrastructure project under the 2022 Reform and Integrity Act, and those figures should be re-verified before relying on them. Separately, USCIS charges apply to the investor petition, to the immigrant visa or adjustment stage and later to Form I-829, all published in the fee schedule. A regional centre normally charges an administrative fee that does not form part of the qualifying capital and is generally not returned.
Professional fees cover the source-of-funds documentation, which for a two-income household with savings, pension entitlements and property may span many years of records, and legal representation across a process lasting several years. Budget also for translations if any documents are not in English, and for a possible request for further evidence extending the engagement.
